Who is Dan Menjivar?
Daniel Menjivar (‘men-HHE-βar’) is a full stack developer from California. He spends most of his day collaborating with others in order to build strong user experiences.
Danny, as his relatives call him, got his start as a software developer when he was twelve by making a website for his dad’s small business. He attended California State University Channel Islands were he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with Minors in Economics and Mathematics. He was awarded the Bill & Melinda Gates Scholarship, as well as the SanDisk Scholarship in High School.
In the past, he has developed:
- Desktop Applications using Java, Python, and Electron.
- Full Scale Mobile Apps for Android with Java and Firebase.
- Static Websites (Frontend) using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Hugo.
- Full Scale Web Apps (Frontend + Backend) with Node.js, Express, and Pug.
- RESTful Web APIs (Backend) using Node.js and Express.
- Managed Databases (Backend) using SQL and NoSQL (MongoDb) databases.
- Following clean code practices & agile methodologies.

When he isn’t writing code, he enjoys reading, exercising, and watching TV. His favorite books are The Coincidence Makers & To Kill a Mockingbird. His favorite exercise is dumbbell rows. And his favorite TV shows are Taskmaster & Ted Lasso.
